I was browsing craigslist's Detroit real estate listings and found this post titled:

"Don't get caught in another riot .....move to Florida"

http://detroit.craigslist.org/ rfs/167661749.html

This is nothing but a cheap shot. And stupid because: 1. trying to sell to people who live in Metro Detroit by insulting their town probably isn't the best sales tactic, and 2. there have been riots in Florida in the past 15 years, but not in Detroit for nearly 40 years. It's just frustrating.

Looks like the listing has already been removed. Dang, that didn't take long.

Hmmm, well, now, that's a pretty tough call, Detroit riots or Florida hurricanes! Seems to me the odds are in our favor here!

Yearly hurricanes, or riots 40 years ago. Hmm.

Way to go craigslist for removing that one.

I seem to remember more recent riots ... something about a sports victory and a burning police car ...

Oh well, I'd take my chances in Detroit over 12 month humidity and bugs the size of chihuahuas ...

.... and Michigan has never had anyone eaten by an Alligator or bitten by a Shark! The only meal related fear we have is... have you waited long enough after a meal before going into the water!

Why does the druken overzealous partying of sports victories get labelled rioting (or 'civil disturbance' if not in Detroit)? From those I've seen they have nothing like the sheer hate content and confrontational behavior that motivates other riots.
