I learn last night that 4 cities Detroit, Hamtown and Ferndale (I forgot the 4th) just received a state grant that will pay for a bus system that will operate during big events in the area. Basically the busses will drive in a continuous loop between the cities. There will also be a kiosk which will let you know what city you are in and provide history of the city. I was drinking Jurands at the time so this is about 90% accurate some of my smaller details maybe off. | ||

I was surprised to see that Hertel got this job. I haven't known him to be a supporter of mass transit. He's a pretty conservative guy which makes me even more surprised. However, being a conservative guy, I think this bodes well for the prospects of mass transit funding. The big caveat is whether or not we can get our stuff together in SE Michigan. | ||
