This was mentioned on the Penske thread, but I think it deserves its own.

Holy shit! This sounds exactly what the City and neighborhoods need. With the right leadership and vision, I see this as a wonderful seed of hope. I look forward to nurturing this and watching it grow.

ARISE Detroit project MUST work in order to have a better unity in the community throughout the ghettohoods of Detroit. Don't depend on KING KWAME,GRANHOLM, OR EVEN GEORGE " BENDAR " BUSH to do your dirtywork. We The People of Detroit is the government. Not the body government itself.

Talk is cheap! Actions are what counts. I posted this on another thread and expect to hear outrage here too. Detroit citizens need to focus on the real problems of the city. They are:

1. A corrupt, ineffective, unresponsive, incompetent, and incapable city government for decades who have saddled the city with high taxes.

2, Crime, crime and more crime. Police, judges, courts and citizenry who seem impotent to stand up for the law abiding citizens.

3. An undereducated, underskilled, overpaid workforce protected by a unions unwilling to see the changes in the last workplace over the last decades.

4. No viable transit system. (Due to #1.)

Dtroitduo says,

"With the right leadership and vision, I see this as a wonderful seed of hope. I look forward to nurturing this and watching it grow."

It won't happen until the voters dump the same old pandering politicians. Dump the bums!
