What kind of "friend" opens up an already negotiated union contract weeks after much begging by herself and union hierachy to vote her in? The suddenly tough AFSME and UAW rolled over and gave her what she wanted. Don't believe me? Ask any State worker. Of course this was played out in the nether regions of the newspapers and media...very quietly. Would these "powerful" unions have done the same thing if Posthumus has been elected? Would the papers and media been so low key about it? |

As one of those state workers, keep in mind that Posthumous would have just unilaterally changed the contract, which is what King John always did. So, the people doing the work may have given a pound of flesh while the legislators kept their 39% raise, but at least we got a fair vote out of it. The option for us had we voted no would have been the layoffs of co-workers. |

So being mis-led is considered fair? Do you believe Gov. Granholm just woke up one morning after winning the election and decided to re-open union contracts and force or coerce pay cuts and unpaid days off? This wasn't thought out well beforehand? State workers got Kwame-d.. now that I am locked in for 4 years uhhh, "we just found out we really are in much worse shape then we thought". She flim-flammed state workers and the unions marched right along with her. I don't think you could say for sure lay-offs would have occured. I have two friends who took an early out retirement and they said so many workers left that if Granholm were to implement lay-offs the state would practically come to a stop for lack of manpower and experience. |

Granholm scabbed during the newspaper strike, why would anybody be surprised what she does now? If another Republican Dick becomes governor, there will be no state unions and things will be even worse. God help us all. F&*king politicians. |

How do you figure she mis-led us? I don't remember her running on a "no pay cut" platform. |

jenny changing her position based upon her making easy decisions, now there's a surprise. I'm glad that I wasn't the only person to remember that she wasn't the only politician whoring herself back in the 90's for publicity. I'm still surprised over the lack of any fallout for levin's actions. |

Quote: I don't remember her running on a "no pay cut" platform. That's how, please vote for me, then I'll bend over the people who voted me in. Quote: I'm still surprised over the lack of any fallout for levin's actions. Not me, they get a pass in MI. That's just politics. Granholm took it a step further though by backstabbing a large block of those who voted for her (state employees). |

Pacy, I'm still not seeing your point, although I get your overall aim. You want state employees to rise up against Jennie and vote en masse for Amway Dick. Some of us will vote for the Soap Man, for various reasons. 99% of those will not be our voluntarily-accepted pay cut. We understand fully where that came from. That was the parting gift of Engler, Senator "I don't want to talk about my 39% raise" Sikkema and the rest of the Republicans. Hell, we even acknowledge that the best Granholm could hope to do in Lansing was beat her bully pulpit and provide verbal leadership. Anybody's got to be dense, willfully stupid or partisan to lay Michigan's problems at Granholm's feet. The Republicans have run Michigan since 1992, and they continue to run it. |

You REALLY think the Republicans are less evil? I don't like democrats, but it's like a bad cold vs. AIDS. |
