And for those of us who's moms have passed, still remember them in your own way too. They are people who should be cherished in one form or another. |

Agreed Smogboy. I'm sorry to say despite the greatness of our country it seems to be one of the few countries where the old aren't respected by the young. The next time anyone feels like blowing the horn because an old timer is driving slowly in front of you remember that, cut them some slack. It may even be one of the rapidly diminishing WW II vets. Those guys especially deserve respect. |

ANY one that's older than us deserves some measure of respect! If we could only capture some of their essence and wisdom that they've garnered through just having been through more than us, we'd all be better off for it. |

I respect all of my elders, but I don't think respect has anything to do with the fact that if a person is unfit to drive they shouldnt be driving. I really feel that all drivers over 65 should have to take a road test at least every five years, espicially with all of the baby boomers reaching that age. |

Funny Smogboy, They're both from OH so they decided to retire there after 45 years in Detroit. My Dad actually moved here when he was 1 and he turned 75 in April. They're Detroiters @ heart. later - naturalsister |

First off__ Happy Mothers Day to all! Secondly __ It's to bad that Mr.T doesn't appreciate the total ingenious Black Culture experience of 'signify'n' rituals. ex: (Yo 'momma' is so stupid she thought a quarterback was a refund.) In otherwords our songs, lyrics, jokes can hold double meaninings and can't always be taken in its literal context. Sometimes the context is more complex and dynamic than it may appear to be. The brilliant and artful duplicity is predicated on our ancestors entertaining themselves while seeking to help emancipate themselves as they faught to be liberated from the nefarious blows of our oppression. These spirituals are still being use today in our community as we face the on-going pathologies of self-doubt and self-destruction. Mr. T ain't keep'n it real! super d(motordetroit) |

Mother Rosa Parks might physically be gone but her spirit lives on in all of us. |

Smogboy quote: Mother Rosa Parks might physically be gone but her spirit lives on in all of us. Sorry Smogboy, I disagree with you here. The violence/gun culture, black on black crime, or any crime for that matter. Rosa's spirit does not dwell in individuals who perpetrate these acts. Another double slaying over the weekend, another useless anti-violence march, (the wrong people are marching), Detroit Love? C'mon Mayor! |
