Who's worse?
(They make Rick Rizzs and Bob Rathbun look like Ernie Harwell and Paul Carey.)

Mario is a huge tool. Obnoxious, annoying.

The only thing bad about Jim Price are his constant "when I was a player" analogies.

Jim Price is a terrible announcer. They need to restrict him to color commentary. If you tune into the game during the innings he's calling, odds are it will take 20-30 minutes to find out what the score is. Each inning ends with something like "we're through 5 innings, you're listening to Tiger baseball on the radio home for Tiger baseball," and usually he won't mention the score.

I disagree, "Blessyouboys." That's about the only GOOD thing Price brings to the radio. He butchers names consistently, including those on the Tigers. Just ask "Nate Robinson" and "Joelle Soomaya."

He should not be allowed to do play-by-play, even if it IS for two innings. Yesterday he called a home run a "base hit."

These are just a few examples.

I could go on and on and on.

Jim Price, my man ... just walk away.

Jim Price sounds like he took one too many foul tips to the head when he used to catch. Unfortunately, he's in tight with Illitch, and that's why he's on the radio. Sort of like most of the Tigers from the past ten years, Price is a minor-league announcer who happened to get lucky and make it to the majors. From what I've heard (and I listen to a lot of other teams' announcers on XM), Price is the least knowledgeable color man in the big leagues. Hopefully it's an incentive for people to go out to the ballpark and watch the team in person, so they won't have to suffer through Price's rambling nonsense.

Today, Bob Rathbun announces for the Braves on Fox Sports South. He's actually not too bad. He just had some extraordinary shoes to fill when Ernie was canned.

Impemba is OK. He's a local guy whose come home, so I thinks that's cool. But he actually makes me miss Josh Lewin.

It really makes me pine for George Kell and Al Kaline.

I don't think there's a Tigers fan over the age of 30 that didn't do a Kell impersonation. "Look out Al! He hit it like a boooh-lit"!

Impemba and I both have a face for radio, which is where Mario should've stayed. Somebody please tell him to shave his head.

As for Price ... he's knowledgeable about the game, no doubt, but he continues to butcher 30 percent of every sentence he utters. He's a virtual train wreck on the airwaves.

The Tigers' TV announcers are one of the blandest broadcasting teams I've ever heard.

George & Al are still the best TV announcers the Tigers have had.

Ernie & Paul are the best Tiger radio announcers EVER. I still remember what a treat it was when Ernie was retiring and Paul Carey came back to do color commentary for a few innings. Talk about making you feel old...

Jim Price NEVER EVER updates the listener on the score, inning or number of outs, which on radio is essential. No matter when you tuned in to Ernie, within a few minutes you always knew who was winning, outs, hom many on base, inning, etc. I agree with Borders: Ernie Harwell is the best baseball announcer ever and when he was with Paul Carey, the duo could not be beat.

I can't disagree about Jim Price, but I've heard much worse. Check out Chris Singleton with the ChiSox this year and you'll see what I mean.

Ernie was great, Paul was Paul. How many times in a tight game did Paul butcher a flyout.
"heres a long fly ball, deep left, way back and .... caught, wind must of got it."
Ernie called a homer better then anyone I have ever heard, he knew the precise moment to start getting excited. On the radio that was key

I'm all for getting rid of Jim Price and Dan Dickerson. One of my favorite things to do is sit outside and listen to the Tigers while drinking beer, and they've killed that for me.

However, I couldn't possibly love Rod and Mario any more. Rod is hilarious in every sense of the word, and I think Mario Impemba does a fine job. I also think they play off eachother quite well.

I think Price has had an in with the front office because he stinks as an announcer. He ran those fantasy camps and has been a big rah, rah front office suckup for years.
If he hadn't been an ex-Tiger, he wouldn't be announcing. He's just terrible.

I like the radio team O.K., but they can be tiresome, particularly Jim. (And if you think he's bad now, maybe you don't remember how he was when he started.) "And batting thuuurd..." You know, I think he might be from Pennsylvania; he has a similar way, to my mother's family, of pronouncing certain words. I grew up listening to that "accent," so it's O.K. with me, but while I can deal with him saying, "Cahmerica Park," the other day he referred to the Angels' star outfielder as "Vladimir Guerrera," and that's where I draw the line... Also, I think we all have gotten the message that he and Al Kaline are buddies from a long way back, but I suppose that, just to be sure, he feels compelled to bring it up during every broadcast. And yes, Jim, we know what ****ing uniform number he wore. (Although we have no memory of what number YOU wore.) (O.K., that was mean; I apologize.) I could go on about the many phrases which he has over-used and worn us out with, but it's time for me to qualify the runner and shorten the game.

I like Mario though I find Rod Allen to be pretty annoying. He acts like a goofball to often for me. I don't know if I've ever watched a Tiger game where Mario hasn't made some over the top joke about about how wealthy Mario is.
It seems to me Allen tries to force the humor too much and he usually misses the mark. Either you're funny or you're not and Allen just isn't.

I think Dan Dickerson does a very good job, but Price is terrible.

Doesn't it sound like Price is always stuffing his face with hot dogs or something.
