Does anyone know if the B.I. Zoo will re-open now the the Society is running the Main Zoo? |

From what I understand, the main zoo is going to be facing budget problems from the beginning, so I don't think that reopening a second zoo is really in the cards... I wish they would, though... that was a childhood romp of mine. I used to go there with my mom all the time. |

I'm pretty sure I just read something about the private society in charge of the B.I. Zoo opening exhibits, starting with one with deer (naturally), and then expanding from there if they can. Let's make sure there is enough interest shown if they do go forth with this. The Belle Isle nature zoo is the new/rehabbed facility at the east end of the island. The old Belle Isle zoo is closed and will remain so. (Message edited by ndavies on April 28, 2006) |
