I am looking for two large (huge 9’by10-12’) industrial doors like those you would find in an old factory. Not that roll up, but doors that roll from side to side. Does anyone know where I might find doors like these? I do not want hot doors, I want doors that were legally obtained. Thanks for any help that can be provided. |

Buy the hardware from Detroit Door, get some salvaged wood and have the doors made. The new hardware along with aged wood will make them look old and that way, the doors will be made to fit your opening. |

Dan, how much are you willing to pay for them? I might have a few extras. |

to obtain them legally, there might be some footwork involved... I might contact the owners of the uniroyal plant, for example. offer them a certain figure to have permission to go in there and snatch two doors (legally with permission.) there are some interesting doors in the fort shelby... i bet there are some in the fisher body 21, as well. i'd look on http://www.forgottendetroit.co m look for doors you like (rarely stolen because they're cumbersome) and contact the owners of the buildings... my two cents... .andy. |
