http://www.modeldmedia.com/dev elopmentnews/vinton38.aspx So does 12/2006 seem like a feasible time for it to be finished? I'm so glad this is underway. I wonder who the first floor retail tenant will be. |

Sounds great. Curious as to how residents will enter the basement garage from the alley. Ndavies, I mean "Normmmmmmmm", how will this be accomplished? |

I'm curious what sort of external lighting will be incorporated into the rehab of the building. Maybe something like the vertical line (for lack of a better term) lighting, like we see near the bottom of the Kales?? |

We've developed a new teleportation device, We're going to beam them straight into the basement. We've also discovered a way to take all the dead space out of the cars atoms. can shink them to the size of a hot wheel. We can fit 250000 cars down there. We were trying to solve all of Downtown parking issues at once. It's costing us $350 billion to do this. We thought we could get it back charging $5 a car for the next million years. There are only 2 choices. 1. a ramp. 2. an elevator. Not enough room for a ramp. Yes, upward lighting similar to the Kales. Actual initial construction completion was projected for late October. We've already seen a little slip in the schedule. That's Why I told ModelD December. The only thing that would blow up the schedule would be issues involved in the installation of the car elevator. It involves making changes to the support structure of the building. |

While I like upward lighting, it does add to light pollution. http://www.darksky.org/ (Message edited by sknutson on March 29, 2006) |

I'm a big proponent of dark sky initiatives, but I also believe that our dense urban places should be lit without regard to those concerns. Neighborhoods, highways, and strip retail in more suburban locations are the real problem in my mind. Keep up the good work, and good luck keeping the schedule Ndavies. |

You don't go downtown to see stars (no offense)...you go out of town, and with our sprawl, way out of town. I want downtown to always be as bright as it was Super Bowl weekend. |

Things can be well-lit and still not pollute the sky with light. |

Maybe the solution you guys are thinking of is a sort of light shot horizontally from neighboring buildings rather than up from the ground? I don't know...what about the DAC lighting effects that flood it with light from near the ground basically? Too much? |
