The Dougall School is even worse! My understanding is that when they went to tear it town the demolition crew couldn't believe that the city was bringing the building down. They said the timbers used for construction were in great shape and all the building really needed was a bit of upkeep. Sadly, the school board can't keep money in their pockets so they decided to tear it down and build new. |

It's good to know that the folks north of the border aren't the only ones bent on senseless demolition of historic properties. Even our "enlightened" neighbors to the south do it. |

jjaba likes it. It sure beats Detroit suburban slap it together schools with zero character. Atleast Windsor builds things and the community has good schools. Thanks Andrew. jjaba, Kahnesque hisself. |

That front facade simply couldint be recreated today. Happy that they kept it....also, the same thing was done to a school in Southfield at 10 and Telegraph. They kept the front entryway, yet built all around it. |

Extcept for the the one at 10 and Telegrapgh was done very badly and looks really strange. It's like a 12' wide stone and brick section tacked onto the side of a modern (and very cheap looking) white metal office building. The section of facade doesn't even get the honor of being one of the buiding's entrances and there's only a window in the original archway. |
