The co-op's last of three fund-raising events this month is Saturday. It is hosting a Health, Food and Nutrition Bazaar, with exhibitors providing free samples and health food products. It's from noon to 6 p.m. at the co-op, 456 Charlotte.

People interested in joining or donating to the co-op can contact Dwayne Smith at 313-831-7452.

I think they should be supported. Sometimes I question their location though. It is somewhat isolated. From what I have heard their rent in that location isn't exactly cheap either. Retail is all about the number of eyes that see your establishment every day. I think they need to be on a main street like woodward or cass and closer to the denser populated areas near campus.

This is coming from someone who has never shopped there so feel free to enlighten me.

Wasn't the building that Agave is in now at one time home to the Cass Corr. Food Co-op? I seem to remember that YEARS ago...

I think the co-op would be better off back at their old location near WSU where there are a lot of people/customers walking around. The stretch of the Corridor that they're in now is desolate.

The co-op was located where the spiral gallery is now located on willis and cass. That location was great but small. They wanted to expand and I thought purchased the current location instead of renting the previous one.

It would be nice to have support and a full store at their current location. Most people can easily drive to the current location. It is no different then going to university foods. I did like its previous location better and was more walkable. Down the road the lower corridor would probably be a good place to locate. Currently it will be rough going for anything but car traffic.
