Last night was the opening reception of the Detroit All Stars of Art exhibition at the Cass Cafe....a real nice time and lots of good art.

The Cass Cafe is a great venue for showing art and a good time was had by all! Lots of reminiscing and catching-up with friends!

Dangit all! It looked like such a great time to be had too! Why do I insist on working on a Saturday nights at times??? I miss out on so many cool events like this at times... sigh. Hopefully sales were brisk and a good time was had by all.

You didn't try to pick a fight with Mitch Ryder like you did back in the good ol' days of Alvin's did you, leoqueen??

And just looking at some of the photos here, there are some people I hadn't seen in years!

Mitch Ryder wasnt there, Smogboy, but if he HAD been there, I would have welcomed him with open arms in the spirit of old times, forgiveness, and rock 'n roll!

DDD, www.posterplanet.com sells some late issue Grimshaw posters (he's an ebay seller also). I bought one of a Jimi Hendrix concert that I attended at the Masonic Temple in 1968. That particular one was printed in 1990 and signed by Grimshaw.

It's good to see that there was a mix of older & newer emerging artists there. Sooner or later these youngin's will be carrying the torch for all of us.

Damn, I posted this several weeks ago and I completely forgot about it. I took the Dequindre Cut home from Eastern Market took a bunch of pics then just crashed on the couch.

Looking at your pics, I'm soooo disappointed I missed this. So many familiar faces, that I photographed for my Artists of Michigan series and collected pieces from. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

BTW, How's that guy's.... Lowell B(something?)'s work stand up? I've heard he might have some potential.

Lowell's work was really great! The Sestok was good too, in fact, everyone was in fine form. There were a series of eye paintings in the front room that were kinda cute, too.

jiminnm - C Pop used to have a lot of old posters for sale. I don't know they are still there since it is under new(er) management. Give them a call, they may still have some around.
