Hornwrecker-The man in the Fox theatre photo above is Bill Brown, the theatre's manager from the early-mid 60's 'till about 1981. Brown was partners with B- movie producer Herman Cohen, an ex-Fox usher (as was Brown) who made it big (well, actually medium) in Hollywood producing teen horror drive-in fodder. Herm was the cash, Bill ran the place, and it was under his aegis the Fox became the kung-fu cultural center it was when the packman and friends began haunting the place beginning in '75, quietly doing good until better times prevailed.

56packman, ah! Thanks for that info. Great pose there. To me his expression suggested there was more to the story than just what appeared in the photo. Sure enough, you come along with the rest of the story!

Hornwrecker-do you remember that silly assed photo to the geeky dude, supposedly on top of the world trade center "right before the airplane hit"--that photoshop/internet bullshit. Someone lifted his image and placed him at the wreck of the Hindenberg, the kennedy assination, replaced the airplane with the stay-puft marshmellow man--that widely circulated email really shut the original idea down!

Here's one I took in 1980 of the sign (well, half of it-anyway) of the "Executive house" apartments on W.Adams, the former Briggs Hotel, now the Park apts. I took this from a moving car, just as an afterthought. We had just removed the 20's Chandeliers from the closed off lobby of the (demolished) Oriental theatre, which is still there, on the first floor of the Briggs. Those fixtures are now hanging in the Redford theatre executive house 10-80

Thanks Jimaz! =) I came across "Green's BBQ" a few days ago while taking the long route home from Wayne State...it's located on W. Warren but I can't remember the cross-street...I believe that it was close to Livernois.

Here's a different angle:
