So, what does this mean? Slighty improved bus service between those cities? Goodwill collaberations are nice, but the metro's been talking and studying for decades about effective mass transit. It's time something comes to fruition. |

As a daily user of the system, I'll take slightly improved. We all probably agree, a massive reorganization is needed, but I need, as well as many others, at least semi-reliable TODAY. |

I am involved with this partnership. The partnership is really about generating economic development opportunities as much as it is about transportation. However, the first priority of this group is to demonstrate the feasability of shuttle services that connect the downtowns of these cities. It might just end up as some sort of weekend tour bus at first, but the plan is to prove that such connections make good business sense. We're looking for funding right now, but the plan isn't entirely contingent on finding any. Anyone who wants to contribute funds, feel free to respond below. |

The 4-node shuttle service between those downtowns seems like a worthwhile experiment. But wouldn't it be worth considering adding Metro Airport as an additional node? That would potentially give the 4 downtowns an extra boost from travelers... |

Sounds like they're considering Metro already. Good news. |

I always thought an evening shuttle service from Ann Arbor to Detroit's downtowns would be popular with all those carless students. |

Ah, oops. The Crain's articles didn't mention the airport, but I see the Model D article does. Great news. |

The airport was in the original plan. The state wanted the group to focus on connections between partner cities first. The airport is still an important goal, but it will come later. |
