Show us the money. All we need is another group to complain about how historic structures don't get reused enough. Big deal. We know that. From here on out, we only need new organizations that have BOTH this vision AND can bring something to the table in terms of bringing about economically meaningful reuse. |

the vision from the coalition underscores how much money we're WASTING if we continue to let our historic resources be demolished and underutilized with no clear plan for replacement with higher, better use. the vision also discusses a plan for how to shift to a "presumption of preservation" as a cornerstone development framework for successful urban revitalization. the vision underscores that the vast majority of projects within the city's core are rehab projects, utilizing historic fabric - which serve to provide context and character for future new development, not the other way around... vision is a vital part of the development puzzle, guiding policy and capital. |
