This same Granholm a few days ago wanted the federal government (i.e., taxpayers) to fund a "Marshall "Plan" in order to bail out the dysfunctional Detroit auto industry.

How much of the cost of an automobile is due to Federal mandates?

Not necessarily disagreeing with any of the laws,
but requirements legislated by the Federal government do have a huge impact on the bottom line.

Someone alert Karl, I'm espousing laissez faire economics, check his pace-maker first.

Well, whatever.

Apparently Bush had already abandoned Detroit as a lost cause and had no intention of assisting that piece of America in any serious way, within his own prejudice.

It was merely a routine photo-op to him.
No surprise.

Perhaps he wants anti-American UNfair trade policies?
No surprise.
