Thanks Hornwrecker. I don't know what it was, but I and some neighbors noticed in River Place. And no, I haven't started drinking yet. :-)

I remember that earthquake near Youngstown in 1999, which affected Metro Detroiters, and even Chicagoans who felt the tremors. The rare quake shook our downtown skyscrapers, but most people on the ground did not feel it. Nontheless, I remember that the seismic activity was strong enough to crack the brick facades of a couple buildings, particularly in Southfield.

I think it was 1984, Dave. I was cutting the grass with a power mower, so didn't feel it. But my wife was in the back yard reading a book, and she felt a pretty good jolt.

There was a ball game in progress at the moment at Tiger Stadium, and newspaper reports stated the second deck really got a good push or two.

Disappointed as I was at the time for not feeling it, I've made up for lost time here in Vegas, having felt two of the CA earthquakes; Northridge and Hector Mine. The latter woke me out of bed.

I felt one here in Berkeley Ca. last year. I was in the bed. It was enough to wake me up, but I went right back to sleep.

The one in Michigan was pretty strong back then. The entire house shook.

I felt the mid 80's quake in Detroit, it was quite a jolt if you were sitting still. During the 99 quake I was on a train to Toronto so I didn't feel that one.

Well, something happened. Doing some dusting today and a lot of the pictures on the wall were shifted by a bit.

Young-detroiter...I was working in the one-woodward building for the 1999 earthquake. Pretty amazing feeling...I was on the 22nd floor making a copy...it felt like the floor literally dropped an inch out from under my feet. There was an audible "oooh" from everyone around me. We all felt it.

Just talked to a security guard here..apparently the "tremor" was from dynamite used to bring the silos down.
