Fine Arts Theatre in Midtown reopens, getting updated façade and interior
The Right Productions has started booking performances for the Fine Arts Theatre on Woodward in Midtown. The theater had not been in use for over a decade.

The Right Productions occupied the space late last year and is in the process of buying it. They’ve held seven events in the 1914-theater since December, including four during Super Bowl week.

The company plans to upgrade and update the interior and make façade improvements, which include keeping the historic marquee. The theater will be furnished with flexible seating that can be removed for special events and banquets, allowing the space to be multi-use.

Limited programming is planned during its rehabilitation through the summer. In the fall, it is expected to be operating in full swing. The Right Productions plans to host national jazz acts and small theater productions.

That link was just a flyer for their Super Bowl week events. I'm sure they took it down after that since no events will be happening for a while.

Well with another 582 seats, the expansive "Detroit Theatre District" will go well over 25,000 seats.

Isn't Shahida the daughter of CAY's late companion (and city department head) Joyce Garrett?
