The historic Ransom E. Olds House on Grosse Ile suffered a fire this morning. Reports are that the recently renovated house suffered an electrical fire in a 3rd floor apartment, which suffered the most damage, primarily fire. There is a lot of water damage as well. This news reminds me that recently, the original blueprints for the Olds mansion in Lansing were found and donated to the State of Michigan Historical Center. So, anybody can reconstruct it with enough money and talent! The mansion was torn down for I-496, which ironically bears the name "Olds Freeway." | ||
