Has anyone been to this place yet? If so, how was the food. The menu is pretty different looking, I hope they do well!

The owner or co-owner is a former chef at Atlas Global Bistro.

Sorry, here you go.

Not the most exciting lunch menu but my bacon cheese burger was very good. The dinner menu is more expansive.

Overall Grade: B-

Just to spread the word, Detroit Synergy will be having their monthly "Third Thursday" happy hour at Currents this week. This is a very laid back way to see what DSG is all about and the check out a new spot in our fair city. I have not been there myself so I'm also looking forward to it.

Their Scotch Egg is terrific, especially with a Boddington. Yum!

Yes, the Scotch Egg is tasty, and so were the crab cakes, but the clam chowder tasted like oil. The service was exceptional and the decor is lovely.

My biggest complaint was the noise! The bar wasn't at all near capacity, but there are no noise dampeners anywhere. The ceiling is tin, the walls are wood, there are no cushions on any of the seating, or table cloths, for that matter. The place was truly deafening.

Additionally, at one point during the evening, the Water Department decided to pump out the sewer (somehow accessable in the restaurant?!), so the door stood open to accomidate a hose, and we froze!

I'll try going back, but I certainly wasn't impressed.

I had never been to River Rock, but it seemed like it had been around for a long time. I can remember hearing ads for it on the radio when I was a oyung pup.

River Rock was a cool place to party during the summertime.....had rooftop deck, literally, you stood directly on the roofing material if I remember correctly.....a fun night everytime.

At the DSG Happy Hour (Thrid Thursdays) we had a whole lot of folks! Great turn out, and a very nice bar. Dark wood all around, nice layout. Roof and deck will be open for the summer, str8 from the owners mouth. Boddingtons on tap, and the artichoke dip was pretty good. Didn't eat anything beyond that. Id' recommend checkin it out.
