Lila Lazarus, who left a job as health reporter and part-time anchor on Post-Newsweek’s WDIV-TV (Channel 4) last September, will reappear in March on Fox’s WJBK-TV (Channel 2).

Lazarus will co-anchor the 11 a.m. Channel 2 newscast with Sherry Margolis and share the Channel 2 lifestyle and health beat with Deena Centofanti.

When Lazarus departed WDIV-TV after 10 years, a station release said she wanted to "explore new frontiers." But her March startup indicates that she was merely sitting out a non-compete clause in her Channel 4 pact.

Detroit television is feeling the crunch of the area’s slow economy and pay for TV talent has suffered. While neither station would discuss her contract on the record, it would appear salary was a key factor in the move.

She has since been replaced on the Channel 4 health beat by Kim Adams, who returned to the station in December after her life down South was undone by Hurricane Katrina.

A Channel 2 spokesman praised Lazarus as one of “Detroit television’s most well-liked journalists

She annoys the fuck out of me. I would rather they have any random person off the street than her.

I lila wore a jester hat and danced around while she reported the news at wdiv, she'd still be there.

Channel 4 sucks big A$S. I'm glad that lila found a home at Channel 2...

Lila may be irritating, but she is a MARATHONER and one damn tough lady. Anyone who takes their 'beat' all the way to the finish line after 26.2 miles...and then returns for MORE again and again...is OK in my book.

I may not turn on the telly, but I'm glad she's back on it.

Now you've all got me curious as to why a certain reporter, whether it be Lila Lazurus or anyone else is liked or not liked on TV. To me, it's almost as if they're all interchangeable. Is there that much of a difference if Amy Lange is reporting on a fire as opposed to Paula Tutman? I guess it more or so applies to the general reporters.

I can understand it if it's a bit more of a specialized segment of reporting like investigative, business or medicine or whatever but what about general reporters?? Is there a preference? Or a difference??
