Does anyone have any clue as to what is going in here? The game is a month away and still no word?

Mel Washington's Phoenix group is listing it for lease. The current work is part of the facade improvement project downtown. From what I have seen at the site, they could pack up the plywood right now and it would still look better than it did several months ago.

The plywood has now been pulled off the front of the building by vandals, and no construction, security, or owners in sight. Please someone call the city or owners before it goes up in flames.

I'd be surprised if there was any event in that place. They've been working on it for what 3-4 months now? And it barely looks any diffrent. Good to see Mel doing his usual quality work

The facade got cleaned. That's a start. But word is that all prior touted planned uses - a theater, a restaurant, a museum, etc... - have come to naught. Carrying costs and money spent on the minimal improvements have the partners at odds over who's to pay what and where to go from here.

How is the facade cleaned up? I just walked by that dump three hours ago and it's worse than it was before. There's no improvement whatsoever in the facade except that now there's open windows etc. Also the plywood in front of the building looks openable at several points. The only thing they did that might represent an improvement is that they tore down the awning. Other than that it's worse than it was before and definitely more open to trespass.
