Anyone know of a comprehensive list of locations with wireless internet in the city?

In the mean time, lets come up with our own list. I'll start:

Atlas, Meetery Eatery, Eph McNally's, Majestic, Campus Martius, Slows, Mercury, Starbucks (griswold, jefferson, wsu?), Beans & Bytes. Town Pump, YMCA (is this running yet?)

Hart Plaza, I thought might have it as well. Am I correct?

Hunter House, Delux Lounge, and some areas of the RenCen also have free wi-fi.

With enough wireless coverage, would it be possible for someone to mount a webcam on their dash and offer virtual tours of Detroit to the world over the web, possibly for profit?

i think all of downtown is wireless, at least Kwame has plastered up billboards around the city touting that downtown is wireless, with his name in big print right below it.

If you read the fine print on that billboard, you would notice it says in Hart Plaza and Campus Martius parks. (It might list more places. At 80 MPH that's all of the fine print I can read.)

I would suggest driving around town with a laptop and a wireless card to find where where all the free access points are, but some time ago someone, for some reason, thought even disscussing this would be illegal.

Why go to all that trouble, when it's already been done for you.

What about places that have wireless and computers people can use if they don't have their own laptop? I have lots of customers ask me about this and I'd love to have some suggestions for them, especially places they can walk to from downtown. (I hope this isn't threadjacking, if it is I'm so, so sorry!)

I know the City-County Building has an open hot spot. I have used it many times when I went to meetings there

Greenolives, how about sending them to the library? It's the only place I know of that has public usable computers.

Beans & Bytes on Woodward has a room with PC's and printers available. Not sure if there is a fee to use them.

Google Earth's "Google Earth Community" layer identifies some WiFi hotspots too.
