My street prophets have advised me of a new move in the ambush reporter wars. "Free Press Reporter Mike Elrick - who broke among other stories (with colleague Jim Schaefer) the Kwame Kilpatrick credit card abuses - has left to take a position as an investigative reporter with Channel 4. The news has been circulating for some time at the Freep, but was finally, officially, posted on the internal bulletin board today (Wednesday). He'll start at WDIV sometime in January. It was posted that he will be 4's "Chief Investigative Reporter" although there is no independent confirmation of that title." |

Thankfully Elrick is a LOT easier on the eyes, although he's got some good hockey-type checking moves that will come in handy. |

Channel 4/ WDIV really does need to update their investigative news stuff. I'm sorry but Ruth to the Rescue, Kevin Dietz' strippers on a golf course and Karen Drew's stories just don't do it for me. WDIV has been getting walloped in this department bad with WXYZ's Investigators and WJBK's Problem Solvers. |

Mr Elrick and I have been friends since the first grade, and he and I had our own newspaper when we were kids, "the Nottingham News." He's one of those people that knew early on where they were going. Good for Mike. He'll do a good job. |

How about a story about the grand opening of the new Southwest Public Safety Mall. KK and Ella held a grand opening ceremony before the election, yet the police dept. still has not moved in. I would like the administration to explain why? Rumor is that HQ wants to move into the building and keep the officers at the old precinct. |
