Anybody else heard this advertisement on the radio? They don't give the name, but its suppose to open like any day now or sometime in the next week. I'm thinking maybe its the Good Life Lounge changing its name or something or simply Maverick's reopening. My street prophets haven't heard anything yet so I figured I'd try here. |

Considering its suppose to be a dance club of some sort, between that place and Good Life Lounge the Vinton building should get its daily dose of drum and bass. |

If the extended hours permit is the one where drinks will stop at 2am but the building can play music until 4am then I don't think many places will bite. Most clubs just have some random DJ that plays and really has no true talent so for them to have an extended set would be pointless. When I went to Blue and other places a couple years ago on a semi-regular basis it seemed like most people were leaving by 1:30am anyway or hitting the streets to brawl. Unless people go to see a certain DJ that has talent that people will actually be intrested in staying and watching(read:big name trance DJ's from europe and techno DJ's from Detroit and Germany), most people will go home if they can't drink. Plus as bartenders could you imagine standing around a couple extra hours serving water and babysitting drunks for $2.65 and hour or whatever it is? Now my whole theory is bunk if you can drink till 4am as well. |

You are indeed thinking of the right permit. http://www.detnews.com/apps/pb cs.dll/article?AID=/20051217/M ETRO/512170371/1003 I think it's a stupid idea myself. |
