AiW, apparently the Blue Jays are not the only team that rents the airplane that the Martin campaign team is using. The Ottawa Senators flew home from their 3-0 loss to Boston in this plane -- after the "Paul Martin's Liberals" decals were already affixed.

The Senators (those on the hockey team) have not been the same since.

Funny comment Ottawa.

What's with the "NDP*NPD" bit? Can't Canadians figure out how to spell yet? (Or is this "so" Canadian, we just wouldn't understand?)

We don't spell it "Republican*Republiken", now do we?

Thanks AIW. Your leaders look just like the dorks who run this country. You got the candids for us. Thanks.

jjaba, confused North of the Border.

Where's Joe Clark?
I use to love the cartoons of him in the Sun, where every drawing of him had his mittens attached to his coat sleeves with the little strings.

Jjaba,

NDP and NPD are both the same thing, yet reflect the two prominent languages of Canada. English and French.

In English NDP= New Democratic Party
En Francais= Nouveau Parti Democratique

Je suis desole, je ne sais pas ajouter des accents

Jjaba: of course, NDP stands for New Democratic Party and NPD is the French version: Nouveau parti démocratique du Canada. There is a joke about this (bilingual labelling) in “Canadian Bacon” (where the cop Dan Aykroyd pulls over John Candy).

Psip: where is Joe Clark? He was at my Shopper's Drug Mart yesterday. My wife and I both walked past him before turning to each other and mouthing: "was that Joe Clark?" Of course, those in the store who recognized him were too polite to bother him (this being Canada, and all). He is not involved in active politics.

Thanks for the explanation.

In Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Tigers Stadium has a huge sign "GEAUX Tigers."

jjaba has the T-shirt version. You ought to love that one down in Canada.

jjaba.

Maybe Joe was at the Rideau Centre (mall) to buy mittens? I couldn't really tell. I was too busy trying to see if his daughter was with him....

Is cleaning a plane easier after hockey players or elected officials ride in Canada?

Can electred officials pull rank and ask to drive the plane in Canada?
