Well, DST is here once again, and this new early arrival time just seems a bit too soon to me. However, since the sun sets very early in Las Vegas (we're on the extreme eastern edge of Pacific Time...geographically we should be on Mountain time) I'm glad to see it. Anyway, I started setting all my clocks ahead one hour around 2:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. When do the rest of you physically move your clocks to Daylight Saving? |

Way to early Ray1936! Chuckles. I'll spring forward around bedtime tonight. Let us see just how long it takes for someone to make a joke about springing forward |

I reset when we go to bed. That will be a bit early tonight since I don't want to lose that hour of Z time. |

I changed them about an hour ago. Does that mean I'm getting old? I think so. |

We will change our clocks in the morning. Probably the high one in the kitchen won't be changed until afternoon on Sunday! |

I could use the extra daylight after a depressing winter. We can all thank George W Bush for the extra couple months of DST one of the only decent things he did while in office. |

How in the hell do I change my cell phone time ? I'm pissed, over my so called atomic clocks and so called automatic updates. What a waste of money. |

This is a liberal, socialist, communist, fascist intrusion by the government. Time would better off if determined by privatization. (Message edited by jams on March 08, 2009) |

quote:This is a liberal, socialist, communist, fascist intrusion by the government. Time would better off if determined by privatization Yeah, a good example would be how a 24 hr day was being timed like my former employer did. Not by hrs/mins, not even military time, but by hundredths of an hour. Also, for payroll purposes, a new 24 hr, 3 shift work day began at precisely 8:35 pm, or on their timeclock, 2058. A new work week began at 8:35 pm Friday evening. Scheduling a vacation day, days, week or weeks was even more mind-boggling, since a vacation week was determined by the fact that it was scheduled using Wednesday at 8:35 pm (actually Thursday as far as they were concerned) for the start of every employee's vacation, regardless of what their non-scheduled days (off-days) were, and many employees had non-consecutive (split) off days, for example, Monday/Saturday, or Wednesday/Sunday, or Tuesday/Friday. It could be very confusing, especially for newer employees, and they had to be careful not to misunderstand their varied work schedules, so they did not miss a day of work that they they thought was an off-day. I can just imagine the creative ways that clock hours would be timed after it became privatized and unregulated. A watch would have to be a time calculator based on how a day month and year is interpreted by businesses, churches, government, states, ect.. (Message edited by Flanders_field on March 08, 2009) |

Now I'm being told how and when to set my personal clocks. Daylight Savings is the poisoned fruit of collectivist thought. The pinko bastards! ;-) |

At least I didn't have to re-set my GPS. I happened to be driving a long distance last night and was using my Garmin. As soon as I selected Home as my destination, it showed my Estimated Time of Arrival as 3:30 AM, which I knew to be EST. Exactly at 2:00 AM, the on-screen ETA switched to 4:30 AM. So I lost my one hour behind the wheel on NB I-75 and I'm all the more tired today. |

Very cute Turkeycall...I like that. Why not leave it optimized however? Keep it "sprung forward". |
