With all this talk about Velvet peanut butter, which do you prefer, smooth or crunchy?

lodgedodger prefers smooth
betterhalf prefers crunchy (says smooth is for girls)

Smooth - and it's gotta be Jif. To me that is the Cadillac of peanut butter.

I remember my mom buying Velvet when I was a kid, but I honestly have not had that brand of peanut butter for over 37 years. I do plan on picking up a jar my next trip over the river now that they're back in business! I'll give it a try.

In my experience, males like smooth peanut butter, females like crunchy.

I like organic "natural" peanut butter (the stuff you have to stir), but Jif will do...

That's the healthiest because it's not hydrogenated.

The only problem is you could break a wrist trying to stir it. Tip: put the unopened jar in one of those tumbler machines used for polishing rocks. Let it tumble for a few hours and voila! No stirring!

On a sandwich with jelly/jam or honey, I go smooth. On bread with just pb, I go crunchy. I am also a fan of the Trader Joe's smooth organic. Can't wait to have some Velvet in a sandwich along with Better Made chips and a Faygo root beer with cane sugar in the glass bottle.

love crunchy but usually buy smooth 'cause thats all the kids eat. delish on a toasted english muffin and a glass of milk and better made chips!

I love crunchy but it always tears up the bread, its the best for recipes though, I remember making cookies with crunchy. Now I buy Meijer smooth organic and Meijer organic preserves (strawberry or raspberry) but I'm also looking forward to some Velvet!

Smooth, on brands of soft white bread like "Such Crust" or Wonder. :-)
