I know it may not directly benefit y'all, but at least they didn't move the operation to AL, MS, SC or TN.

67 Cougar XR7 with a Cleveland engine. Doesn't get much better than that.

Wasn't there a warehouse in Australia that had 351's in storage ? I had a friend that had a Donzi with twin 351's in it. Nice boat when it was trimmed.

BigB, did you turn your friend in for exorbitant and harmful CO2 emissions against the state? Come on comrade BigB, Lenin would not be proud.

Ron, I'm a Mopar guy, but the '67 Cougar is sweet! If I ever get my '73 Charger back on the road, I'd like to drop a 403 stroker in it.

Big B, I tried surfing the net to see if I could come up with anything on that. I do remember Hot Rod Magazine doing an article on the Ford Flathead & it mentioned how the French Army used them in their trucks going into the 80s. Found a link referring to it if you want to check it out.

^^^^Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain^^^^

quote:

The Aussie's made 302 and 351 Clevelands up into the 1980's. From what I understand the Cleveland engine is as common there as a small block Chevy is here. The "M" heads do not flow well at all as the ports, especially the exhaust are really restricted due to the built in emission passageways in the head.

No problem there...I've pretty much quit dealing with him. If he'd offer up real evidence on his claims or counter-claims, that'd be fine. Otherwise...

Thanks for the link.
I work for a law enforcement agency. One of our urban legends is when the fleet & garage area went through renovations years ago, a few crated 440 Magnums were discovered. Where they wound up afterwards, who knows. The agency had always used Fords or Chevys, but I'd heard they ran some Dodges back in the 70s. I've yet to find anyone in fleet who can confirm the myth. They recently started stocking up on the new Charger, so perhaps I'll pick one up at auction when they reach the end of their service life. Without the lights or sirens unfortunately. ;-)

Sharp little flathead in that video.

While you're there check the related videos. There's an 8-cylinder chain saw, 24-cylinder bike and other miniature engine stuff.

There's a guy out there, who markets a working miniature V-10 Viper engine. Crazy stuff.

Cripes! That is pretty wicked. I always wished I was a better "engineer" when it came to mechanics. Maybe I should've been a civil engineer as here is a pic of my landscape project...still in progress I hate to say. Still trying to figure out a more aesthetic approach to the drainage on the right.
I have better pics on my home PC.

I've got my "Surrounded by Horsepower" CD for my fixes. By the wheel recordings, at the "tree" of Prostocks on up, at the drag strip.

I love that CD !
