Detroit in dire straights... so what city official sees nothing wrong with a city car and driver at beck-and-call for late-night dinners, a little clubbing and gambling the night away on a regular basis?

Question is... will this hurt or help her re-election campaign?

Next question is... does the media want to help so they have easy stories to write in the future, too?

In a statement released by Attorney General Mike Cox, today, he informs us that there was no late-night dinners, clubbing, and gambling on the city's dime.

But, if it's true, what Detroiters really want to know is whether Martha was partying like a rock star in the city, or in the suburbs/Windsor? :-)

Looking like Wilson's steely glare is like a heat wave! Good god do I love Motown song titles.

Meh, her going to Windsor would be no big deal. Afterall, it's just across the street. It's not like it's a different country or something.

I must say I am surprised that the astute readers of DetroitYes would jump to the conclusion that the subject of Monday's reporting is the obvious pick.

So, Steve, you're saying that it's Dave Bing? lol But, more seriously, but I'd not be surprised whomever the story is about, because wining-and-dining, clubbing, and gambling on the city's dime would be the speed of quite a few of this region's government officials. They are politicians, after all, so I'm not sure how 'obvious' any one choice would be.

Or Shrek out in drag, drumming up even MORE outrageous press against his council nemesis's...nemeses?...nemesis ees?

(when did google start spell-correcting on the input of data? Pretty kick ass new twist for them, I put in at least three varieties of spellings for Shrek and it got me to the right place each time, BEFORE I hit the enter button!)

All this is going to achieve is building sympathy and support for Council Member Reeves, who will be seen as an object of ridicule and disrespect by the harassing and stalking suburban press. For the suburban press, it's all about ratings.

I can predict the excuse already: the police-chauffered transportation was required due to (real or fictitious) threats that the individual recently received.

Wilson doesn't have to follow MonCon if the Feds already are.

No one really thinks its Bing, that was just a joke...but it would be extremely funny if it were Bing OR Cockrel in that wig! Too bad there's only one person with fashion taste that bad - even BRC has a better wig crypt!

Martha Reeves can do whatever she wants outside of work hours. She can cross Eight Mile in peace, visit Brooks Patterson, see Jay Leno, I don't care. What I do take issue with, is her having a city owned car and driver. We need police protection in the neighborhoods. Martha can hire a driver or work to make Detroit safer if she is afraid.

Knows and understands the issue.

Just watched the noon report. Parking Ms Reeve's limo in a handicapped parking space shows the professionalism and courtesy one would expect from her.
