I figure seeing as baseball season is almost upon us we should do our best to catch up on the baseball movies we love. Here is my top 10. 1. For the Love of the Game (I admit a little bias as I am a Tiger fan) 2. Major League (Best baseball comedy) 3. Field of Dreams (I would love to have a diamond in my yard) 4. The Natural (Roy Hobbs running through the shower of sparks is classic) 5. Bull Durham 6. The Life and Times of Hank Greenberg (once again Tiger Bias but by far best documentary I have seen) 7. Bad News Bears 8. Eight Men Out (Hate that it involves the White Sox but a great movie) 9. A League of Their Own (Theres no crying in baseball!) 10. 61* |

Watching Levar Burton try to hit a baseball at Tiger Stadium before a game, as they filmed the Ron Leflore Story, I actually believed he was blind when he later appeared in Star Trek: The Next Generation. |

It may not really be a true "baseball movie" per se, but I think Jimmy Piersall's biography, "Fear Strikes Out" is a good one. Agree with Ggores re: "Angels in the Outfield". I'm surprised nobody mentioned "The Lou Gehrig Story". |
