http://www.ci.detroit.mi.us/Po rtals/0/docs/deptoftransportat ion/pdfs/adoptashelter_revised .pdf Has anyone on this forum participated in adopting a DDOT bus shelter? If so, how has the program working out thus far? I didn't even know this program was going on until just a couple days ago. |

i heard about it a few months ago via their website but have yet to see any shelters that i could tell were adopted. there are a couple on e. jefferson (connor and also van dyke) that could use some foster parents though! |

We tried to look into adopting a shelter and we never heard anything back. Has anyone had a different experience? |

Reminds me of Hamtramck, years ago, when citizens would keep the alley and curb area around their home clean. One caveat for shelter adopters: Wear gloves, and avoid getting "stuck" by sharp pointed objects! |

Word of advice. If you do adopt a shelter, you don't have the right to shoot anyone who pees on it. |
