I saw a flyer laying on the ground at work today in pasadena california. It was a real estate invesing seminar. The home/property photos looked familiar..... like detroit "BUY FOR $5000" it boasted. Sure nuff I took it into work and a coworker had attended. Its on buying in detroit and renting the properties to HUD. (sounds odd) She said it sounded good to her and they help rehab and manage the properties from afar for u. Oh my hometown, whats going on...... I will try and post a copy of it tomorrow, i forgot it at work .

I will have more info tomorrow. sorry, forgot the flyer. Seemed kinda scammy to me, sell some dumb californian a really horrible property, rehab it at inflated prices , add your commision and get real low (if any) rent....... Californians are used to (but tired of) high real estate prices even in this slump and my go for anything. Im not saying there arent good places to invest in detroit, but buying thru this "service" seems a bit risky. ...free seminar, $2 parking, Ya get what ya pay for,,,,, the $2 parking that is ....LOL. i get home about 8pm you time and wl post details and hopefully the flyer or a link to it.

Sorry - all I got was a bad link message.

I know your frustration with the P.O.S. all in one printers/copiers that they sell today. I've averaged less than one hour of actual mechanical printing time on my last three all-in-ones, before they break.

We will wait patiently, N7hn.

So the problem with the link was the space in the URL. Removing that and using \newurl{http://www.flickr.com/ photos/17798133@N06/3256475287 /sizes/l/,http://www.flickr.co m/photos/17798133@N06/32564752 87/sizes/l/} without spaces gives us http://www.flickr.com/photos/1 7798133@N06/3256475287/sizes/l / which works.

http://tinyurl.com/ also helps in these situations.

Now what were we talking about?

I spoke to a lady from California yesterday that bought a house for $5000 on Ebay. She realized that she'd made a BIG mistake. A house a block away just sold for $800. She said she was afraid of telling her boyfriend about what she did.

That's an interesting business: sucker out-of-state folks who incorrectly assume there must be some kind of reasonable floor to real estate prices.

And throwing this in: "My people perish for the lack of knowledge", just before you put the screws to them. Hosea 4:6. Absolutely fucking priceless.

well. I hope for the best for detroit and support investment in it. Realistically it is hard to pick the right property from afar in any city. Its just impossible for people that arent in detroit to understand or comprehend the lack of demand for city properties not to mention the incredible surplus of available homes. I think i would live in detroit again , I just wouldnt consider it the best return on investment.
