Sounds like someone who hates Detroit for reasons not explained. What does the Lions situation have to do with the slide show?

Yeah, taking pictures of Detroit ruins and then putting them online obviously means you hate Detroit...

I just don't get it.

You know I feel that a lot of people across the states want to see Detroit survive.

But at the same time, I also feel a lot of people want Detroit to die a death of cancer.

It can't be just because of the cars.

At least I hope not.

You know, when WW2 ended, we (or at least our parents) as a nation did what they could to ease the pain of what happened. Now "our" own nation seems to want to pummel us because they all bought a Vega. This is insane. Really now, this nation over the last half century has spread billions all over the world with good intentions. But mention the word Pinto and we aren't to be trusted with a loan to make it through the holidays. Mention Detroit and the rest of the nation only thinks of 1967 or the 1984 Tigers and the disgrace of a mob. Or how greedy we are. They sure didn't mind our generosity when we prospered and we didn't expect anything when we gave. We just did.

It's always easy to kick a dead dog. But there's no reason to be proud of killing the dog.

The author sounds like he used to write propaganda for the Soviets.

England is still mad at the US for taking over world manufacturing and bailing them out of two wars and kicking them out of the US.

The author should do some research before he slanders us. First he shows a Ford car, Ford is not asking for money. Second, he shows all of Detroit's ruins, but what about Detroit's progress. Its easy to tell a story when you only tell one side of it.

Then there is the subject of the British auto industry.
Who got more government help to build the worst automobiles than we ever did.

Lefty2, two world wars? Yep, you Yanks came in at the right time and did so much in WWI. Thanks for saving the people of the Empire...give me a break!

Back to the thread. What in those pictures is wrong or rude? Sadly, pictures of a camera don't tell lies.

Hey Goat, pictures in a slideshow are selectively chosen to tell a certain message. I can't recognize all the photos as actually being from Detroit. Some could be from anywhere. There are other areas of Detroit that aren't all run down & doing alright.

There was another thread with some magazine or paper showing the same old stuff, i.e. the train station, the Packard plant et al. As I mentioned on that thread, that's been done to death. BORING!

Jackie,

Every single picture in that slideshow is Detroit. The captions don't make any sense with the pictures at all.
