I have an iPhone too. I always used atdetroit.net/forum/messages/5 /5.html instead of DetroitYes.com, that way the screen would always remain boxed. (Message edited by doctors on November 12, 2008) |

Thanks for the link to the phone DYES. I like the feature to zoom out to the pages, helps to scroll through and to cut to the latest messages. Works on my EnV. No I phone here, sadly. On my phone, the boxes (I'm assuming between the messages?) are blue. |

For a full screen effect in the forum, I use this address - try it. On my desktop, not phone. https://www.atdetroit.net/cgi-bin/f oroum/discus.cgi?pg=topics |

Are you guys talking about the blank spaces on the right and left edges of this page? I don't like. It ruins the artistic look of the site (In the about section, Lowell compared the site layout to art). But I guess it's for the sake of mobile devices. Still, I think it looks horrible on my lap top. |

Try shrinking the zoom level at the RH corner of IE. Those pillars are massive. But it's evident only in full screen mode. I don't have a wide screen, so maybe it's more evident with those monitors. It's probably linked to the stylesheet used here. (Message edited by townonenorth on November 12, 2008) |

Why not just use our normal dark colors for these pillars? The pastels don't fit the site and subject matter of the forum, very well. |

I don't care for it either. I have these big yellow blank spaces on either side of the messages, and the message space is smaller. When I go to full screen, I lose the header that lets me click to the different sectors. I guess it will be OK once we get used to it. |

I've been checking back to this thread all day, and for the life of me could not figure out what you guys were talking about - UNTIL - I tilted my laptop backwards and noticed the yellow "pillars". Can't say that I ever would have noticed if nobody mentioned it. |

At first it seemed like wasted space on either side of the page. But then I narrowed this window and they disappeared and I gained easy access to other windows behind this one. So I guess it's a minor plus for me. If it helps others, I'm all for it. I can take it or leave it. |

Well excuuuuuse me. I was working on this, got disrupted and left before I finished. The idea here is to create a forum display that centers in all situations and that does not explode off the screen for those with large screen resolutions. The width is 1000 Pixels wide now which will means fit into the now standard screen resolution of 1024 w x 768 high. This also gives the page a consistent readable width. In other words, readers with larger resolutions don't have to swing their heads back and forth to read the exploded pages - yet it will collapse for those few who still use smaller resolutions. |

If you would like my unasked-for opinion, I would make the background blue a bit darker than the forum blue just to set it off. |

Mine is blue now, the same as the background in the sidebars. I like that much better. I don't like the darker blue either, it's better for me if it blends in. |
