I don't know if anyone else has seen this yet... in the generic auto industry newspaper (the one with the blue masthead published under different names at the Ren Cen, Ford HQ, and Chrysler HQ), there is an article that discusses how the Redstone rockets used up through the two first manned space flights were built at the Chrysler Missile Plant. So I guess we can add space travel to Detroit's list of firsts... but the question remains: if Chrysler put Americans in space, why is it that Lincoln (part of Ford) is taking out the billboards comparing its cars to starships? :-) |
