Hey gang, does anyone have any old campaign buttons or pins from Detroit or Michigan Candidates? Espeically older ones? I'd really like to see some! The oldest one I have is Dennis Archer!

Here's a left over campaign token from the John F. Nichols campaign against Coleman Young in.....gosh, was in '73? I think so. When Roman Gribbs declined to run for mayor again, it came down to Nichols, career police executive, and Coleman Young, then a state senator. Nichols lost by about 12,000 votes, and the rest is history.

Not really a campaign button, but cool nonetheless; a button from the Hoffa movie with Jack Nicholson.

Give me a few days. We're in the process of packing stuff we don't use regular for a possible move up there. Got to remember which box it's in.

I'm guessing it's from WWII.

If I don't see any political buttons here soon, I'm going to post my Official Soupy Sales Birdbath pin.

Eden East on Route 66, after 25 odd years & 2 locations I had no idea that it had a Detroit-theme 'til I read it here. One wall devoted to Detroit, the other is a Dean Martin Shrine...I know a few relatives of Dino so I was amused...the guard from "Night At The Museum" is a regular there

They give away bumper stickers so they oughtta make 'em

There used to be a John Birch Society bookstore on Gratiot between 8 & 9 mile. We used to go in there when we were in high school and look at all of the crazy stuff they had. My favorite thing was a bumper sticker like this:

Johnlodge, I've got that one too. Along with one that says "Detroit LOVES a Good Party" referring to the 80 republican convention.

My collection includes Hendrix, Archer, Young, Granholm, Reagan, both Clintons, Edwards, Obama, Perot, Nixon, Carter, Gore, Dean, George HW, and many others. I'll try to dig up a few of the Detroit/Michigan related ones
