Saw a lot of cool cars... even a Delorean. I looked hard, but I didn't see a Flux Capacitor inside.

Wouldn't have been able to go 88 mph down Woodward anyway.

Thanks, sg_creative, for sharing your photos. It's always nice to see someone else's perspective!

(I have no problem with this thread posted in Discuss Detroit in order to share Dream Cruise photos.)

Kathleen....I'm with you; the photographs may indeed be offered for sale, but taking a look is...priceless (as in, without price).

If some folks believe that this posting belongs in the classified section - do us a favor - quit crying about it & copy/paste.

I just tried starting a new thread re SG's photos. It went up---then got pulled. Guess I should've read the terms of use. Evidently OP needs to be a member in good standing for a year before they can post in classifieds. So, up to somebody else to do the deed.

Back to the tissues...

As in the past, I did my coverage of the show, as well as took nearly 300 photos.

I remember when Melody had her post yanked because she was asking people to come to her band's show.

Now a guy is trying to sell pictures and we should stop whining?

SS, like your page. A '65 Coronet---that took me back! My first car back in high school, same color---but not nearly as sweet (must've been the pink bondo quarter panel I never painted).

You even thought to post a Twin Pines truck! My secret fave of the entire cruise. You get a handful of pennies from Milky's jar for that.

That Twin Pines truck is cool. Would love to see an old Good Humor truck.

"I remember when Melody had her post yanked because she was asking people to come to her band's show. "

That happened?! Oh. I didn't realize or I forgot about that. People post about going to this show or that festival all the time. So what? If it's not of interest it'll sink to the bottom and be forgotten about. I do like that there are some rules and somewhat of a structure to this site, though.

By the way, my new band will be playing at... just kidding.

In years past there was a Delorean with a flux capacitator. There were about 10 Deloreans near 14 mile this year. A club rented out a lot and lined them all up.
My favorite was the brown Opel Manta that was there friday. The only other one Ive ever seen was at LAST YEARS cruise.Very rare in these parts.
Some of the vanity plates surprised me.One guy had one that said "myviagra".

I know I said I'd probably come back next year but I did Back to the Bricks yesterday and I'm staying in Flint next year. Too many rice burners, Hummers, latemodels, minivans, donks, and a bunch of other cars that had no business in the cruise lanes. I had to pull over and shut it off three times due to overheating thanks to the snail's pace. I had a good time, but I decided its just not worth the hastle. Here's a shot of myself and the girlfriend's dad riding shotgun that I found on another site.

What is a "donk"?

Yeah, Melody, but it was a while back... it was a G3 show.

Is a Donk an earlier model of a badonka donk?:-)

Very cool photogs!

I hate Houston. We have no Woodward and no Dream Cruise. I be homesick. :-(

I went to a parade in Plymouth. I think it was a July 4th one and they had about 10 Deloreans in it and all of them were in amazing condition. They all drove down the street with their gull wings open. It reminded me of the topper worn by Sally Field in The Flying Nun and how she had these gull wing flaps on it. As I recall I am pretty sure myviagra was there. They all had pretty goofy license plates. Made me think of the Seinfeld episode where Kramer got mixed up at the DMV and got Assman as his plate.

Donks are those 70's-80's GM mid and full sized cars i.e Monte Carlo, Impala, Delta 88 with obnoxiously huge wheels. $1,500 car and $6,000 rims. The term comes from the owners thinking the Impala on the Impala logos looks like a donkey.

Hey Supersport! I'm surprised we didn't run into you and M at Northwood Center on Thursday evening or sometime on Saturday. We covered a lot of the same ground...thanks for sharing your photos!! We had a blast this past week...and couldn't let go even this morning as we headed out to Woodward on bikes for one last look at the cruisers and the crews cleaning up.

Thanks to Goodwill Industries, Woodward Avenue looked terrific this morning. You would never know that hundreds of thousands of people had spent the day there on Saturday.

Dear fellow DetroitYesers,

I am not attempting to sell my photos to you all. Detroit Stock Photos is a company that deals with media outlets, magazines, book publishers, marketing/graphic design company's and producers.

Please think of this as my Flickr page. From One Metro Detroiter to another. Thanks.

Kathleen,

We usually park down by 12 mile, walk for a few hours to take in all the cars in the lots and along the streets, then retrieve our chairs from the cars. We then set up camp in front of the CVS for the remainder of the day. That major intersection has always been considered the epicenter to me. We figured out long ago that the best way to cruise Woodward is to cruise it south, then head northbound on Coolidge until it hits Woodward. For whatever reason, northbound traffic has always been horrible.
