quote:

former director of Detroit's Cobo Center is facing a felony charge in connection with about $100,000 in cash he allegedly accepted from a Cobo contractor -- the first significant legal action in nearly three years to stem from a sweeping federal probe of City Hall contracting.

"Lou" Pavledes, 54, who is expected to appear in U.S. District Court in Detroit on Thursday, is cooperating with federal investigators in connection with possible cases against the contractor, Karl Kado, and others, in a wide-ranging and years-long investigation of City Hall contracting

quote:

Kilpatrick's father, Bernard, who sources said is under investigation and had his telephones tapped in connection with the Synagro investigation, also has connections to Karl Kado (the briber).

Kado owns the building on East Jefferson where Bernard Kilpatrick has kept the offices of his business consulting firm and Bernard Kilpatrick described Kado as more of a friend than a business consulting client in a 2005 interview with The News.

oops, Karl Kado is also a heavy contributor to CCK

It seems to me that Papa K is looking like he may be the central player in everything that's going on right now. I think as everything continues to unfold, he'll be the key.

How long untill some of these newspaper writers start turning up in car accidents and other personal tragedies?

You can't keep peeling away corruption and think you are going to get through it without any danger...

It is also interesting that Kado took over the convenience store in the Coleman A. Young Municipal Building when Kwame took office. As an employee or visitor to that building you could get a good deal on chips, pop, hot dogs, coffee.

Once Kado took over, a can of Coke went up to about $1.50, coffee, $2.00. Nothing has a price on it, and they simple charge what they feel like for the day/time.

In addition, does anybody remember that Kado's brother Steven murdered his wife in 1990, and dismembered her body. eewww.

Kado also runs the snack bar in the Frank Murphy Hall of Injustice. Vending machines too.

Cash business.

Just to bring in vile sub-plot, Kado is tied into what was the George Family milk business, Melody Farms, and its financing of Iraqi/Chaldean owned convenience stores and gas stations.
