I voted (in Warren) this afternoon around 4pm. I was #60 in my precinct. I mainly voted because of the zoo issue...probably wouldn't have if not for that. No major issues or competition where I live.

Voters who split their ballots should be offered a chance to re-vote. Was that happening where reports of spoiled ballots came in?

My prediction for the Livonia annexation of Northville's parcel is :

It does not matter how the citizens of Livonia vote.

I believe if a majority of the seven Northville "residents" on the site vote no, it can't go through.
I heard the developer and Northville Twp. came to an agreement the other day.

Hmmmm...

I doubt it. The poll workers seemed pretty disorganized and a bit clueless as my polling location.

12:30 i was 280 in my precinct...

albeit im not in the GDA so i couldnt vote for the zoo...

if you NORMALLY vote Republican, would anyone deliberately vote Democrat for a chance to support a candidate running against KwamesMommy?

just curious...

I voted twice. I voted then took Mother to her polling place. I had to vote for her.

Elections are really good for my Mother's mind. She's been spitting and sputtering the last weeks about various candidates. Swears like a sailor whenever an unfavored candidate's commercial is on television. I've threatened her with a "swear jar".

At least she's mentally engaged in the elections. Otherwise, she'd be watching Bonanza re-runs.

She voted for the zoo, too.

Mbshan,
That is Edmonson School, that is where I vote as well. I was number FOUR at 11:00am. I guess my vote really counts.
Are you in Woodbridge or North Corktown or elsewhere?

Jmaz,

She won't vote absentee. She likes to go to the voting place.

I don't mind...it makes her feel as if she's still a part of everything. Small price to pay for her good feeling, you know? Now, if only I could get her to stop swearing...

;-)

Voted at 8AM #27, wife went at 3PM #227. I was approached by a Ramsey campaigner and she asked me to support her candidate...I asked her what he has done for the community and she said "I don't really know, let's read this pamphlet together" WOW!

This is very interesting. I voted in tiny little Huron Twp. at the tip of the thumb & we had 150 at 5:00. Hot contest for sheriff & prosecutor but still a great turnout for a little place.

Looks like zoo will pass easily. Kilpatrick is way down, but only 27% of precincts reporting. My guess is the Detroit precincts will be the last to report.

Yeah..was number 164 if I recall correctly, at right around 4:30 pm or thereabouts..then hung out at the polling place for the rest of the day collecting signatures on the "recall Kwame" petition.
Good folks in Detroit..I wanna say that somewhere in the neighborhood of 70-80% of those who showed up to vote also signed the petition..the apathetic Kwame-lovers stayed at home on the couch, at least in my precinct.

I cannot believe it after all the family has put the city through but Carolyn looks like she won.

"DETROIT -- U.S. Rep. Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick declared victory this morning in a three-way Democratic primary that was as much about her scandal-plagued son, Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, as her own six terms in Congress."

Believe it Rid0617. I want to see the breakdown of the city vs. the suburban vote. They said earlier that Mary Waters crushed mamma Kilpatrick in the burbs, but I want to see how many stupid-ass people here voted for her. Can we split our ticket in November when we vote? I'm thinking about voting for the Republican running for Congress against her.

Miss Flow,

The only time you HAVE to vote straight ticket is in a primary ( like we had in Jan and yesterday) in the general election you can vote for Barak Obama for President, The republican candidate for Congress and even the Socialist Party candidate for Senate if you want. I was really shocked listening to Ms. Gaddis this morning. she actually told people that you have to vote for only one party in the general election! Another reason they "straight ticket" option at the top of the ballot should be abolished....Good luck in Novemeber and remember, Vote Tammany...i mean McNamera...i mean Kilpatrick! ;)

I just got back from a trip to Florida. I voted by absentee ballot before I left. It also helps that I am 60. Part of the trip included seeing the bad ballgames by the Tigers against Tampa Bay.
