A few days ago, a forum member posted a link that showed the top demolition companies by revenue. It showed Ferguson's demolition company as ranking within the Top 20 demolition companies by revenue. Within the top hundred were also, Mcm Management Corp, Bloomfield Hills; J & L Management Corporation Of Ohio, Mount Clemens; Iseler Demolition, Romeo; Able Demolition, Shelby Township; and Precision Demolition Services, Brighton.

I wonder how much federal money has gone to these companies since the Federal Housing Act of 1949 authorized funds for urban renewal. I'm sensing a new consensus that we want our cities to be "green" and that the greenest building is the one already standing. In light of that, how much of our public money, instead of going to preserving our buildings has instead been spent to knock existing buildings down?

When demolition contractors, such as Bobby Ferguson, become major players in city development, what does that bode for the city's green future? How do we change these trends? Let's discuss.
