The 3.7 million dollar 1.2 mile "Greenway Path" roughly paralling Orleans Street and utilizing underground railroad right-of-ways is scheduled to open July 1st. The path links The Riverwalk with Eastern Market and plans are for it to ultimately run as far as Mack Ave. and link with other Greenway bike and walk paths in the Mid-town district. QUESTIONs: How will a persons security and safety be ensured in these underground areas? Why wouldn't these locations become more littered hangouts for druggies and homeless people?

Your speaking of the Dequinder cut, right? where is there any underground areas, other than an occasional overpass? I highly doubt this is going to be a problem. Im going down to check it out later today to see whats happening.

If anyone knows about whos in charge of the cut Id love to get in touch about stacking some stones down there.

The Detroit River Conservancy will be in charge once the trail construction is completed.

I read about it today on pg. 7A, Business Section of the Free Press and there was an accompanying photo showing what looked to be an underpass being converted which was the underground area I was speaking of.
