The houses here get stripped, the streets crumble or are piled with trash, but nothing happens to these plants, and nobody tries to steal or damage them. They have no other use than to be lovely.
On another thread, I just mentioned Detroitblogger John's poetic elegance. Here's evidence, posted May 6 with four images I dare not degrade by downsizing here. Lovely indeed.

Enjoy a look at Detroit scenes you may not have passed lately. (Except for jjaba, perhaps.)
