I was driving east on I-94 and there was a HUGE fire literally just above the interstate, on the north side somewhere near Gratiot, I believe. This was a full-on raging fire, like there had been an explosion or something. Didn't see anything about it on the news. Anyone have some info on it?

I was on I94 when the trucks were coming around 1:00 this afternoon. Pretty sure it was a house burning right on 94...backyard to 94.

Oh boy, those people commuting back to Macomb County and Grosse Pointe won't be happy. :-)

I saw another fire somewhere south of the DMC.

It's this dry heat causing it.

Spontaneous combustion due to dry heat. Who'da thunk it?

However you want to spin it, conditions do not cause fires. They add to the probability, like your reference states.

However you want to interpret my meaning, you get the point, like you've stated.

I live just north of 10mile, east of Gratiot and I didn't see the fire. Do we know what street the house was on?

I saw the fire from the Lodge near Grand River @ about 7:30AM... it was a huge cloud of smoke, I could not figure out where it was coming from exactly.

Well that's kinda far to be looking for a fire way down here (6 or 7 miles at least).

I don't agree, K_D. He's given us amazing info! Isn't it amazing how the weather conditions today could effect a fire that happened almost 3 weeks ago?
