I'm guessing Greektown or Campus Martius area? Anyone know for sure?
It was an awfully gorgeous building:

555 Clinton, corner of St. Antoine. The lot is now occupied by the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice.

In 1950-1960 it was utilized by the DPD for their Police Academy, and the Recorder's Court probation department occupied the upper floors. The building was torn down about 1962 for the Murphy building. We always referred to it as the triple nickel building due to it's address.

For what it's worth, here's me with a few friends in front of the building in 1959. Seems like yesterday. Sorry for the light glare in the middle.

Oh. It looked like a halo to me.

Or a vortex.

Wow, Ray! Thanks! I had no idea it lived as long as it did. Figured it was torn down way earlier than that.
