Is it just me or does His Honor seem a bit shady? We all know that he has contributed money to Mayor Kilpatrick. However, he has had the Mayor as a guest of honor at his daughters graduation party, but claims the he never spoke to the mayor.

A member of the EPU visited the judge the day before the Mayor's hearing. I wonder if he leaned on the judge? The judge was called out about it and he wanted to know how this was discovered.

The craziest thing the I have heard is that he was going to let the Mayor sit in the audience for his hearing, rather then at the Defense table! The Prosecution had to insist that the Mayor sit at the table for the proceeding.

It sounds like the Judge is making the prosecution's case that he SHOULD be recused. He couldn't even pronounce recused correctly.

Good catch, Leland.

The judge didn't deny the visit from that EPU thug, he merely wanted to know how it was discovered?

Sounds pretty fishy to me.

from firejerryo.com

quote:

Refusing to Recuse
Judge Ronald Giles said he will not recuse himself and that he could judge the Kilpatrick / Beatty case fairly. Giles gave to Kilpatrick's re-election campaign. He attended a fundraiser gave for Kilpatrick by Anthony Earley,CEO of DTE. Judge Giles wife is a Vice President a DTE. She is also a school board member, Kilpatrick appointees worked on her campaign for the school board. Another Judge (Cylenthia Miller) was in court the day of the arraignment ; she said she was there to support Mayor Kilpatrick who was her former boss who got her appointed to the Judgeship along with Judge Ruth Carter and Judge Weeks. Judge Izetta Bright is married to the mayors corporation counsel John Johnson. Well thank God for Chief Judge Atkins who we believe will recuse Giles and others at 36th District Court because its the right thing to do. Detroit is suffering from an infestation of corruption. Though it may not be corruption in the truest since of the word the court and some of the Judges are it still an issue. For a case as important as this case there can't be even the least little bit of potential or hint of wrong doing. We believe that Judge Giles and others on the bench at 36th District would reduce the number of counts against Mayor Kilpatrick in an effort to make his fight a little easier. ...

Judge Giles' wife, Joyce V. Hayes-Giles, is a VP at DTE and is very active in the DTE PAC. The DTE PAC has a long history of supporting a variety of Kilpatick stooges, including Lemar Lemmons III, Lamar Jr., Bert - the felon- Johnson, Mommy Kilpatrick, and of course the Kwamster himself.

quote:

Joyce Hayes-Giles is vice president of the Detroit school board. She said last week that Eddie McDonald, Kilpatrick's deputy chief of staff and former campaign manager, and Jamaine Dickens, Kilpatrick's former press secretary, worked on her 2007 campaign for the school board seat.

Gosh, doesn't everyone get the mayor to attend their kid's graduation party?
