jjaba just read that Ferndale was annexed into Detroit all the way up to the Detroit Zoo. You heard it here first. See what you can find out and report back. What a gesture of love and unity, eh.

jjaba.

I don't read papers on the First of April, except for The Onion, which I know from reading it for the past twenty years that, for a fact, is always on the up and up.

I'm hoping this isn't an April Fools joke, but I know it is :-(

Nice try Jjaba. If we had a more united region, I might have believed it.

Detroit should annex Bloomfield Hills, Grosse Pointe, Bingham Farms, and Orchard Lake just for the tax base.

Alan, lasted I check, Grosse Pointe Shores wanted to get annexed by another city.

Detroit should try and go for it.

I'm sure the residents of Grosse Pointe Shores would be thrilled about that.

I'd think that Ferndale would annex a portion of Detroit first, given all the recent problems in the "D".

Perhaps the best thing for the city of Detroit would be a name change. To get rid of the area's present reputation. Seriously. Why not change the name to something else to give the impression that the city is indeed changing. Heck, call it New Detroit even. Or Renaissance City.

OK, a great joke for you.

Religions can often be understood by those the faith does NOT recognize.

For example, the Jews don't recognize Jesus.
The Presbyterians don't recognize The Pope.
And the Baptists don't recognize each other in a liquor store.

jjaba, ROTFLMJAO.

Detroit does not need to change its name.
Now there is one place that needs to change its name however. And that is Eastpointe. Time to get them to change back to their "real" name "East Detroit".

Thee's still an East Detroit High School and School District. The East Pointe bit must be part of the old Coleman Young Eight Mile Rd. divide thing, oh so 1970s.

Let's start a movement.

"I'm surprised Delta City isn't on that list."

Love the "Robocop" reference!

Ya gotta wonder what a real OCP and Robocop could have done to this city, given a chance...

Guideboat, classic. Weclome to Forum.
Even Eastpointe has an Eastside.
That's East Eastpointe. There's an outereast Eastpointe, too.

If you work on Gratiot Ave., you can be in Southwest Eastpointe, all the way up to Northwest Eastpointe.

jjaba, but he's never been there.
