Anyone hear anything about Amsterdam lately? Reopening, moving, etc.?

Making my own espresso just isn't the same. =/

You're referring to the bar in Windsor I presume?

If so, no, I haven't heard anything.

I had a really good espresso at Cafe 1923 on Holbrook in Hamtramck the other day, nice atmosphere too. Have not heard anything about Amsterdam reopening though.

Yeah 1923 is nice, but not 4 doors down from me like Amsterdam was.

Gotcha, I live by City Coffeehouse in Allen Park, I don't know what I'd do if they were to close.

The folks who owned Amsterdam have left town. They had nothing left, and moved in with family out of state.

The former Zoot's coffee house space is currently vacant. Anyone want to open a coffee shop there?

But MBR's right. Somebody must pick up the slack. Yeah, Avalon is nearby, but we need a coffee house where you can smoke and loiter.

Or how about the Meetery Eatery space? Lots of people go to the museum and then want coffee or a sandwich but don't want to either get their cars or go down to the basement.

City Coffeehouse in Allen Park is just west of the Allen Park Theater and across from Comerica Bank on Allen Rd. They have been going strong for 11 years now. Just the 2 owners work there so the quality is the best around. Free wifi, too.
