On Saturday a group of us ran from Jefferson and Woodward to Royal Oak/Birmingham. I wrote up a little run report. Basically we had a great time and will likely do this again. http://www.allyeargear.com/2008/our-big-winter-run-up-woodward/

And there I was walking out with smoke and my morning 40, when these guys in long underwear ran by. Highland Park, a new sight every half hour. |

It was 18.5 mile to Downtown Birmingham (Old Woodward & Maple.) The "Werm" is doing Ironman Australia in about a month. I think he was the only one training with a specific purpose. Many of us will be at Corktown, though. |

The road wasn't too bad. There was only a dusting of snow on it. The sidewalks in Royal Oak varied from clear to icy to several inches of frozen snow. It's difficult running in a group in those conditions because you can't see what's coming at you unless you're the lead dog. Gnome, a 40 at 7:30am? Whoa! |
