I've been waiting almost 30 minutes in the 'virtual waiting room'. This could be a long day. |

At first I was okay with ticket re-sellers like stubhub but now I realize it's just legalized scalping. People are buying up thousands of season tickets and immediately re-selling them. At least real scalpers stand outside and work for their profit. No luck for me either. |

I was think about getting a say 27 game package and using what I could and sell the rest. As I'm 500 miles from DET I'd be using say 5 or 6 and selling 20+. Yeah, seems to much like scalping to me. I really wish that folks here could have teamed up to buy a few partials. Don, do you have a 'roomid' on your virtual waiting room for tixs??? I'm roomid=5. I have my airline tixs for May 8 - 11 but no Tig tixs yet. (Message edited by emu steve on March 01, 2008) |

No roomid. I went out and in again about 10:20 though. I thought I'd try a less in-demand game but I realize now you're just lining up for getting in the site. The problem is I want at least 9-10 games over 4 series so it doesn't look good. |

I just got in. Selected my tickets and it says can't process due to high volume. Try again later. What's up with that? |

Has anyone been buying BoSox or NYY tixs? If so, what kind of locations are being sold? |

Still no luck, been on here since 10. I checked out the line at the ballpark and it was around the block, still might have been better than this though. |

Steve - I only got obstructed view Kaline's corner and upper left field for NY May 9,10. Will probably try to trade one game to a scalper and get a standing room spot for the other but I got terrific lower deck infield July 10 weekend (Minn) and for Labour Day weekend (KC). I'm surprised all lower infield isn't season tickets. Better seats often come on-line weeks later but I didn't want to take chances this year. |

I got to the Meijers in Pittsfield Township about 9:15 this morning and was second in line for Tigers' tickets. By 10:45, I had purchased infield box seats for 12 home games. The processing charge of $5.25 per ticket seems steep. When I purchased my tickets, the computer showed a good number of available tickets unless you were looking for three or four together. |

I bought a total of 5 tixs. I'm behind home plate (65 bucks) for the Thurs. BoSox game, and infield boxes for NYY Friday and Sat. Two seats for NYY on Sunday - not good seats - section 144 (obstructed). |

I just was online. 2 tixs for NYY Sat. May 10 are SRO. I checked another date (K.C. Labor Day weekend - good tixs are available). I suspected that the good games are pretty well picked through while the others are still pretty good. |

? : Do the row numbers behind the dugouts start numbering at 1 or do they start at a higher number (e.g., 6, 7 or 8)? Some parks start 1 at field level so the first row behind the dugout might be say 6 or 7, not 1. BTW, the Tigs' website says 176K tixs sold by 6:00 p.m. today. Last year it was 76K. 29K in '06 (9K of which were Opening Day). (Message edited by emu_steve on March 01, 2008) |

Emu_steve, I want to say from sneaking down there in the late innings games two years ago that the seats directly behind the dugout start either at row 4 or 7. But don't quote me on that. Also, based on the fact that the Tigers have said the combination of season ticket packages that have been sold is over 26,000 and that 176K individual game tickets were sold today, that makes over 2.2M tickets sold already! If my math is correct, only about 33% of the seats for the entire season are still unsold. And I imagine that % of unsold tickets is much, much lower for the June-August games. |

"This is going to be one hopping summer downtown with this many people down there for all these games." I hope so. I'd love to see a downtown filled with plenty of hustling and bustling. Midtown seems like the only area that has it. |

Chris, agree. The statement: "two good seats' for a June-August game is an oxymoron. Good single tixs can be had, but not two. based on the analysis above, one can assume that the key series (BOS, NYY, etc.) are already SRO. Other June - August games say Fri, Sat. and Sun might be say 90%+ sold. April and Sept. games maybe 80% sold. Quite frankly, I wouldn't be surprised to see SRO for all games except the cold weather games in April. |

I was fairly successful on the mlb.com site. I did get the tickets I wanted eventually. I am kicking myself in the ass for being so lazy as to not walk across the street and get in line Friday night for the wristband and then come back Sat morning. I was home with my fiancee`, it was warm inside the loft and I figured the internet would work just as well. I completely forgot about the ticket processing fees. When all was said and done, I had paid $68 in ticket processing fees that I could have saved by walking over to Comerica. Oh well, at least my warm fiancee` was snuggled under the blankets for the 90 minutes we hung out in the virtual waiting room. |

People probably read the paper this morning about the huge sales in tix and are trying to get them before they are gone. |

What's the 'over/under' line for the total number of tixs sold Saturday and Sunday? I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't in the area of say 250,000. I bought 4 games Saturday and 2 more this afternoon. This doesn't count road games. A co-worker in D.C. is letting me buy tixs to two games vs. Balto. (these are part of season tix packages). That's 8 Tig games for me. I'll catch a few Nationals games as well. I'm trying to get a tix to some Marlins games. Does that count as kind of a Tiger game? 202K per today's Freep. Yesterday's total was 26K. I expected more 'hording' yesterday as folks realize tixs will start getting scare as the weeks go by. |

Actually 250K is only 2,500 per game. There are still loads of seats for weekdays and tons of tickets on stubhub. If you want tickets for a specific game just watch the prices drop on stubhub as the event gets closer i.e. 7-10 days before the game. |
